Gym Etiquette

Respect

Respect is the cornerstone of Muay Thai. This begins the moment you step foot in the gym.  Respect is given to all levels of individuals.  This is a reflection of who you are.  Let's be the elite example both in and out of the gym.

Be On Time

Life is busy!  We definitely understand a hectic schedule or unexpected delays. However, it is important to be on time and ready for class.  Arrive early enough to change, wrap, use the bathroom, and be mentally and physically prepared.   This is your class and we would like for you to get the most out of it.

Hygiene Matters

It goes without saying, but here we are. Shower regularly. Use deodorant. (We have individual samples if needed) Keep your finger/toe nails trimmed. Wash your wraps. Dry your gear. Your teammates are close to you, literally. Don't make them suffer.

If you are sick...STAY AT HOME!! The gym isn't going anywhere, so stay away for a few days.

Focus, Technique, Speed, Power

If you can't throw a kick or knee with control, don't throw it at all.  Being wild or muscling things are reckless and put your training partners at high risk of injury.  We have a ZERO tolerance for this kind of action.

Don't Assume Someone Wants Your Advice

This needs to be said for everyone who is not a trainer: Unless someone explicitly asks for your input, don't offer it.  There's a difference between being helpful and being condescending. Even if you think your intentions are good, unsolicited coaching can undermine someone's confidence.

A Few More....

No shoes on the mat.

Wear Underwear

Don't Spar at 100%

Clinch Hard, Knee Soft

Be Realistic - Know that it will take time to get good!
